About My Daddy's Cheesecake
My Daddy's Cheesecake's rich, creamy homemade cheesecake always won well deserved raves from Professor Tom Harte's family and friends in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. While waitressing during a summer job, Tom’s daughter convinced her "Daddy" to bake a few cakes each week to serve in the restaurant. With equal persuasion, she suggested that her customers try a slice of "my daddy's cheesecake." Before long, others began using the line and the name stuck. Soon demand for the cheesecakes grew and My Daddy's Cheesecake became the dessert sensation of Southeast Missouri.
In the mid-90’s, Wes Kinsey, a veteran baker and graduate of Wilton School of Confectionery Arts in Chicago, took over the fast growing business. In August 1997, My Daddy's Cheesecake was selected out of 200 Missouri businesses to appear on QVC's 50 in 50 Tour. The live broadcast from downtown St. Louis was seen by millions of viewers all across the US and launched My Daddy’s as a national indulgence.
Now headquartered in a state-of-the-art 5,500 square foot store and production facility, My Daddy’s is legendary in the tri-state area of Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky. Veteran restaurateurs, Kevin and Susan Stanfield, are now part of the ownership team and are poised to launch franchise locations across the country.
